South Gloucestershire Liberal Democrats launch election manifesto

by southgloslibdems on 21 April, 2015

South Gloucestershire Liberal Democrats have today launched their manifesto for the Council elections on May 7th. Entitled ‘Working with you and for you’ it lays out the local Lib Dems’ key priorities, in addition to those outlined in the party’s national manifesto, which was published last week.

Leader of South Gloucestershire Lib Dems, Ruth Davis said: “This manifesto is not a shopping list of uncosted election promises. Instead it lays out the key principles the Lib Dems want to put into the heart of South Gloucestershire Council.

“We believe that, with funding for local government likely to decline even further, everything must be done to protect services for the vulnerable first and foremost. We will continue to do all we can to protect the local environment and preserve South Gloucestershire’s beautiful countryside and green spaces. And we will strive to ensure that our communities have a real voice in the decisions that affect them – with more decisions being made locally at the Area Forum and Town & Parish Council level.

“Over the past four years, the local Lib Dems have worked hard to put fairness and localism at the heart of South Gloucestershire Council. With your support on May 7th we can do even more.”

Hi, Can you tell me what you would like to happen to Highwood Road in Patchway.
Currently the road is closed except for public transport and is one part of the future Metro.
Labour have stated they want to open this again, the Tories have said nothing.
    What are you proposing?
