Road Safety Success at Last!

by southgloslibdems on 4 March, 2015

Lib Dem Cllrs Jane Allinson and Marc Scawen were delighted to secure much needed funding for traffic measures in the Mill Lane/ Victoria Road area of North Common.

This is a traffic hotspot and they have worked hard with officers and residents to get vital traffic calming and waiting restrictions in the area.

This is also linked to a proposed 20mph speed limit around St Barnabas School which includes Poplar Road.

They were also successful in getting funding for investigation into a ramp on the Bristol to Bath cycle path in the vicinity of Redfield Edge Bridge, North Common. This will enable pupils to access the school safely.

Residents are also being consulted about a 20mph speed limit at the front of the school on Bath Road.

Jane and Marc said: “We are delighted that at last the safety of our residents has been made a priority.”
